Tatiana Parfionova Ready-to-Wear Fall-winter 2012-2013

Twelfth Night

Having the status of cultural icon in St. Petersburg, along with the Mariinsky theater and Hermitage, Tatiana Parfionova can afford absolutely anything, for instance, a trick like dressing male models in women’s clothes. However, Parfionova does this with her signature conceptualism, taking one of Shakespeare’s most ironic works as a source of inspiration.

As it turned out, a woman’s figure isn’t essential to seeing the conceptual depth of Parfionova’s work. All these textured jackets, emblem prints and grey coats, originating from classical English suits, in her hands become harmonious hyper-feminine curvy cut lines or decorative elements like lacy collars.
